security and freedom

Our values bring us closer to what our clients and we can - and should - expect from each other.
Thanks to these values, we are confident about the value of the advice and recommendations we give our clients. And we know that our work makes perfect sense.
How do we understand these values on a daily basis?

  • Freedom is priceless to us. Both the "positive" freedom, i.e., "freedom to", which is manifested in the belief that "I am a free man when I can do something and behave in some way", and the "negative" freedom, i.e., "freedom from", which is based on the belief that "I am a free man when I do not have to do something and behave in some way"

  • However, freedom is not an absolute value. Freedom of another person is always the limit. There is no freedom without responsibility

  • In our opinion, the limit of freedom of speech, religious freedom, economic freedom or personal integrity must be an empathic understanding of the first principle of justice of J. Rawls that every person should have the equal right to the widest possible overall system of equal fundamental freedoms, compatible with a similar system for all

  • For us, freedom is not given once and for all. Access to modern technologies is also available to numerous state authorities, not only law enforcement agencies, but also, among others, the Border Guard and the National Revenue Administration. Eavesdropping scandal, Getback scandal, Amber Gold scandal... More and more often - and it would be naïve to assume that this trend will stop - our business decisions, tax returns or social media activities may be subject to modern methods of formally legal surveillance. This is how empires collapse these days

  • For us, security means minimizing the risk of data leakage from e-mails, access control to e-documents, advanced data encryption, IP address firewalls and database access detection systems. Sometimes, however, we assess that the importance of a given document or information is so great that we do not send it at all, in any form. Then we always meet in the office, which is regularly checked for safety by qualified entities.

  • Finally, security is the privilege of professional secrecy, defensive secrecy, or a commitment to confidentiality unlimited in time, not only for lawyers, but also for all associates and staff and from all persons involved in the provision of our services.

  • We are competent. We do not theorize. We know the law from the practical side. Constant and regular improvement of professional competence is our conscious choice.

  • Optimism makes us a lantern, not a critic. We do not judge. We never look at mistakes in an accusatory way
Realism is responsibility, respect for clients and for ourselves, which does not allow us to guarantee the outcome of the case. The nature of our work and the trust our clients place in us means that we always present things as we see them, because the sense of trust is not to make empty promises.

  • For us, innovation means modern running a law firm using tools reserved not so long ago only for a few international law firms.
“I am not the king of your consciences" - these words of Sigismund II Augustus are our guide-post.
